Lori J. Ballard
Director of Safety, Health and Environental Services

Lori Ballard has over 20 years experience in the management of telecommunications engineering, network operations center, network infrastructure development and policy, project management, program and procedure development and implementation.

Her background includes 15 years in active residential fire suppression, incident command and fire service trainer, complimented by several years in Industrial Safety Management where she has performed active behavior observations in the field, performed audits and assessments at all levels in an organization including the complete implementation of a Safety Management Program for a large industrial construction site customer. Lori is also a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.

Lori has extensive experience developing policy, programs and procedures in a variety of industries. Creating organization from chaos is Lori’s specialty.

 

 

Sherri Longacre
Recruiter/Project Manager

Sherri Longacre's varied education in Allied Health and Information Technology brings a broad range of career experience to her years of recruiting with one simple common denominator; People.  Her passion and care for people allow recruiting to not only be a process, but a unique relationship experience. This extends not only to growing to know our candidates but also our clients.

Having a personal connection to the Health, Safety and Environmental processes as her father was a career Chemist and Industrial Hygienist. Currently working in the West from Texas, she is from the North East and grew up in the Southern States; Sherri brings a wide range of cultural experience with people from all over the US.  She lives in the Dallas/Fort Worth region of Texas with her adult son and young daughter.

Brent Knight, CSP
Project Safety Consultant

Brent Knight started his career as a union laborer in the construction trades which led to a path towards a health and safety management education and degree in 1994 from Central Washington University.  He is our resident Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and has 20 years of safety experience specializing in the various sectors of the construction industry.

Brent serves on many boards including the ASSE Puget Sound Chapter, the Puget Sound Area Safety Summit and AWEA Health and Safety Committee.  He is a fall protection competent instructor, confined space instructor, respiratory and PPE program developer and manager and practices industrial hygiene whenever he gets the chance.  Brent lives in Seattle with his wife and two sons.

Melinda Knight
President
While she was the Marketing Coordinator at the Seattle office of DPR Construction, Melinda Knight was exposed to a very progressive safety culture and a genuine concern for employee and subcontractor well being.  The important lessons and commitment to zero incidents and injuries was something she took with her, aiding in her vision leading to the creation of Intuitive Safety Solutions in 2007.  She saw a need and an opportunity to duplicate the culture of safety that was embraced at DPR. She brings the nurturing quality that is required to bring dedicated safety professionals and committed clients together in an effort to produce a “world class” environmental, health and safety effort.
